Frequently asked
The schedule looks empty or out of date.
The app includes a bundled schedule and saves downloaded updates for offline use. To get the latest schedule, connect to the internet and tap Refresh on the Schedule screen or pull down on the list. You can also open Home and find “Refresh schedule” and “Last sync.” If a refresh fails, try again on a stronger connection.
Reminders aren’t firing.
Reminders use local notifications, so they require notification permission. On iOS: Settings → Notifications → BurlyCon → Allow Notifications. On Android: Settings → Apps → BurlyCon → Notifications. Check that you saved the session with a reminder for its start time or 1–120 minutes before. Device settings can delay or silence notifications, and Android reminders may arrive after the selected time.
Do I need an account?
No. The app has no accounts, no login, and no sign-up. Your saved sessions and reminder settings are stored locally. Device backups may include app data, depending on your settings; see the privacy policy.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. The bundled schedule, saved sessions, venue map, and text room guide work without a network connection, including on first use. An internet connection is needed to download schedule updates or open external links such as registration and hotel websites.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Email support@widgetcorner.com. Include a description of what happened, your device model, OS version, and app version if possible.
Accessibility help
These instructions describe version 2026.9.15 (build 10). Older builds may look different. Find your installed version near the bottom of Home.
How do I make text larger?
The app follows your device’s text-size setting. On iPhone and iPad, open Settings → Accessibility → Display & Text Size → Larger Text. On Android, search Settings for “Font size” or “Display size.” See Apple’s text-size guide or Google’s text and display guide.
At larger sizes, headings wrap and dialogs scroll. If the bottom navigation changes to one button showing the current page, open it to choose Home, Schedule, or Key. My Con is inside Schedule.
How do I use Dark Mode or reduce animation?
BurlyCon follows your device’s light or dark appearance. For reduced motion on iPhone and iPad, use Settings → Accessibility → Motion → Reduce Motion. On Android, search Settings for “Remove animations.” Navigation, dialogs, and refresh indicators adapt to that preference; you can still scroll normally. See Apple’s motion settings or Google’s display settings.
Can I find rooms without reading the map image?
Open Venue map from Home, then choose Room guide for text descriptions of room locations. The guide follows your text size and appearance settings and opens by default in Dark Mode or when screen-reader navigation is active. Both the guide and map work offline.
The descriptions explain positions on the portrait map. For step-free routes, accommodations, or current room assignments, contact BurlyCon organizers or the hotel front desk. The map image retains its light background in Dark Mode.
Can I use the map without pinching or dragging?
Yes. Select Map, then open Map controls in the top bar. Use Zoom in, Zoom out, Reset zoom, or the four Pan buttons. The controls dialog scrolls when space is limited or text is enlarged.
Can I set a custom reminder with buttons?
When saving a session, choose Custom… and enter 1–120 in the Minutes field, or use Decrease minutes and Increase minutes. Choose Set reminder to confirm. The dialog scrolls to keep its controls reachable with larger text and the keyboard open.
What is the status of screen-reader and voice-control support?
The app includes labeled controls, headings, saved and selected states, and a text room guide. Selected TalkBack navigation and room-guide checks have been completed on an Android phone emulator. Full TalkBack task coverage and hands-on VoiceOver, Voice Control, and Voice Access testing are still pending. We have not verified every task with these tools on physical devices.
If you encounter a barrier, email support@widgetcorner.com with the screen or task, what happened, your device and app versions, and any accessibility tool or setting relevant to the issue.
