Privacy Policy

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the BurlyCon mobile app (“the app”) for iOS and Android, published by Widget Corner LLC (“we,” “us”). It does not cover the BurlyCon convention itself, the convention’s website, or any third-party services you might reach through links in the app.

Information we collect

The app does not ask you to create an account or provide your name, email address, or other contact details to use it. It does not send us your saved sessions, reminder choices, or app usage. We do not include analytics, advertising, or third-party crash-reporting services in the app.

Accessibility settings

The app uses system settings such as text size, light or dark appearance, reduced motion, and screen-reader navigation to adapt its layout and controls on your device. It does not send these settings to BurlyCon or Widget Corner.

App content and control labels are made available to your device’s accessibility services so they can read or operate the interface. Those services are governed by your device settings and the service provider’s privacy practices. The venue map and text room guide are bundled with the app and can be used offline.

Content downloads

The app includes bundled convention content and downloads updates to the schedule and presenter biographies from online sources, including Google-hosted spreadsheets. These requests do not include your saved sessions or reminder settings. As with any internet connection, content providers receive technical information such as your IP address and the content requested. Google describes its handling and retention of this information in its Privacy Policy. These downloads do not sign you in to a Google account or send your in-app search terms.

Notifications

Reminders are delivered as local notifications, scheduled and fired by your device. No push notification server is involved, and we do not know which reminders you have set. You choose whether to allow notifications and can change that permission in your device settings. Session titles and locations may appear in notifications, including on the lock screen, according to those settings.

Data stored on your device

The app stores the following locally:

• Downloaded schedule and presenter information, alongside the bundled venue map and text room guide.
• Your saved sessions.
• Your reminder settings and app preferences.
• Session information and saved-session status used by home-screen widgets and, on iOS, system search and Siri shortcuts.

The app does not provide a Widget Corner account or cloud-sync service for this data. Your operating system may include app data in device backups or transfers, depending on your settings. Deleting the app does not delete existing device backups. Use your device’s app-storage and backup settings to manage stored copies.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

The app does not include analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, third-party crash reporters, or tracking tools. Device and app-store diagnostic services, if enabled by you, are governed by the platform provider’s settings and policies. System search and Siri features are also subject to your device settings and Apple’s privacy practices.

Third-party links

The app contains links that open external services — such as the convention’s registration page, its website, accessibility information, and map providers. Registration and payment information entered on those services is not returned to this app. Opening the venue in a maps app sends the venue’s address; BurlyCon does not request access to your device location. When you follow such a link, you are subject to that service’s own privacy policy. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

Support email

If you email us, we receive your email address and any information you include, such as a description of an issue or device details. We use that information to respond to your request and troubleshoot the issue. It is handled through our email service rather than collected automatically by the app.

Retention and your choices

Saved sessions and preferences remain on your device until you remove them or delete the app’s data. Removing a session from My Con also cancels its pending reminder. Downloaded content is replaced when a newer version is successfully downloaded. You can manage notifications, widgets, system search, and device backups in your device settings. Offloading the app may preserve its data, and deleting the app does not remove existing backups.

We retain support correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to respond, troubleshoot, maintain necessary support records, and meet legal obligations. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you sent to app support, email support@widgetcorner.com. We will review your request and explain any information we must retain. Because we do not hold your saved schedule or reminder settings, we cannot retrieve or erase those device-stored records remotely.

Age suitability and children’s privacy

The app is intended for convention attendees aged 16 and over. It does not ask for your date of birth or verify your age. We do not knowingly request personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has sent personal information to app support, contact support@widgetcorner.com to request its deletion.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change what the app collects, we will update this page and update the effective date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s next release notes.
